Twee Dee Dee

The birds chirp twee dee dee
Raindrops drip drop pitter patters
While walking down the street
thinking of important matters.

Like the way your eyes lit up
When I got back from Ohio
Or that great big tight warm hug
Reunited for a while.

Were things ever quite that good?
Nostalgia’s such a rosy lens
I like you much more than I should
And I’m glad that we’re still friends.

The rain still falls, the turtledoves are sighing “coo”
And the silly fool smiles whenever thinking about you.

The morning rain is refreshing as I walk to my bus stop in the mornings. Paired with my coffee and the sound of birds, it’s one of my favorite times to think up some poems!
