It’s been a long time since I’ve posted to Freshly Stale. I’m very much behind on the 52 book reading challenge I set for myself and I ain’t even mad about it. Life has been busy. I love to stay busy! I’m not throwing in the towel on the challenge just yet. However, if I don’t reach my goal I won’t really mind.
Since the last update, I’ve read 7 books, putting me at 41 books so far! The latest books I’ve finished reading (there have been some half finished ones, but I won’t list them) are:
- The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams
- The Time Machine, by H.G. Wells
- The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Lewis Stevenson
- The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde
- The Death of Ivan Ilych, by Leo Tolstoy
- And When Snow Flowers Your Hair, Chinese Folk Poetry translated by Cecilia Liang
- Mars Attacks!, by Johnathan Gems
I’m not really gonna tell you about these books. Just don’t feel like it. But there’s links there for you to read them online if you feel so inclined. Of them, I enjoyed The Time Machine and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy the most.
There are 2 books that I might finish tomorrow. But I might not. Who knows?
Chances are, I will be spending time at the arcade instead of reading. And at concerts, too. St Louis has really helped me to break out of my shell! I love this city. Did I tell you (I don’t think I told you) that I started a new job?! I’m full time global security with a different company now and so far I LOVE IT. Pinball, concerts, and rollerskating are my current new hobbies. Tomorrow I plan on painting. We’ll see how it goes!
I feel good. It’s okay if I don’t read 52 books this year because I’ve already probably broken my record for most books read in a year. Even though I don’t have much of anything important to say, I’m happy to share this stuff with you. Until next time!
Thank you so much for reading! I appreciate you 🤠
